Football Manager 2020 Crash Fix

Football Manager 2020

Football Manager 2020 is facing crashing issues. FM20 crashes and shows a “crash dump” message before a match. Sometimes even the game crashes after the match. If you’re having this problem too, you can fix it by doing the following.

1- Verify Game Files

In such cases, it is helpful to verify the integrity of the game files. Go to Steam Library page. Right-click on Football Manager 2020 and click Properties. On Local Files tab, click Verify Integrity of Game Files.

2- Updates

You should update your GPU driver, Audio driver and Operating System.

3- Background Apps

Some applications running in the background while playing FM20 may cause the game to crash. To test this, I recommend disabling some applications. I’ll show you an easy way.

Disable Background Apps
  • On Windows 10, right-click on Windows Icon
  • Click Run
  • Type msconfig
  • Press Enter
  • Go to Services tab
  • Select “Hide all Microsoft services” box
  • Click on Disable all
  • Then click Apply button.
  • Reboot your PC

After that, see if you still have the problem.

4- Overclock

Sometimes overclocking can cause the game to crash, so you need to disable OC.

5- USB Devices

For some reason I do not know why USB devices can cause problems in some games. Football Manager 2020 is one of them. For example, if you have a USB controller/gamepad/joysticks, you can try to unplug it and play the FM 2020.

These were my solutions. If you know of another method to solve the problem, please leave a comment below.
